Albert Hall is on Witton Road, Aston, Birmingham, B6 5NU

In brief

The hall was built in 1899 from designs by architect Arthur Edwards, in the Jacobean style. Now occupied by Kajans Womens Enterprise. There used to be a block facing Victoria Road built 1886 to 1867 by Daniel Arkell, this was demolished from 2016 to 2017 for the new Jamia Masjid Mohiuddin Siddiquia Birmingham mosque.

About Kajans

Kajans aim to create a sustainable, culturally attractive and fully accessible arts, education and enterprise centre in Aston, Birmingham. From this base Kajans will improve the quality and breadth of existing arts, education and enterprise provision to current and new users. ‘Empower individuals and transform communities, using the arts, education and enterprise’. This is achieved through the promotion and development of facilities and a programme of education, cultural, health and economic opportunities.

Kajans is a founder member of the Birmingham Black and Minority Ethnic Consortium – BBMEC, which comprises Cope Black Mental Health Foundation, Community Touch – CIC, Prison Link Ltd, Aurora B’friendly Community Association and Harambee Association, all working within the social enterprise not for profit principles.
