In brief
A bank built at Five Ways, Birmingham in the style of a square Palladian villa with giant Ionic order by P. B. Chatwin in 1908-09. The Lloyds Bank was later a Lloyds TSB, until reverting back to Lloyds Bank around 2013. It remained open until 2022. Was fully refurbished in 2023, and now available to let for retail use.

Former Lloyds Bank, Five Ways - history
This branch of Lloyds Bank in Edgbaston, was built at the corner of Islington Row and Calthorpe Road, at Five Ways during 1908 to 1909, by architect P. B. Chatwin.

The building had remained mostly unchanged, but the road layout of Five Ways Island changed in the 1960s, when Islington Row became part of the Middle Ring Road as a Middleway.

Lloyds Bank and the TSB merged in 1995, and all branches were known as Lloyds TSB from around 1999 until 2013, when the banks were split up.

By the autumn of 2013, this branch was once again branded as Lloyds Bank.

This branch remained in use from 2013 until it closed sometime in 2022 (along with other Lloyds Bank branches in the country that were closed for good).

In 2023, work took place to fully refurbish this former branch, and convert it ready for retail use.
