The Hazelwell - history
The site of The Hazelwell pub had been owned by the Hazelwell family since the 14th century.
It belonged to William de Hazelwell in 1325.
It was part of the Worcestershire manor of Kings Norton.
Hazelwell was not known as a manor until the 17th century.
Hazelwell Hall had existed since the beginning of the 18th century in the middle of a moat in the Hazelwell Recreation Ground.
By the 18th and 19th centuries the land was in possession of the Middlemore's.
There was a farmhouse here by 1840.
This pub was built in the 1930s.
It is a mock-Tudor part-timbered style pub.
It was a Mitchells & Butlers public house.

Until the 2000s and late 2010s, the pub had a very traditional pub sign, fixtures and fittings outside.

From 2019 it has been a Sizzling Pub & Grill.
