The Lamp Tavern - history and details

The Lamp Tavern is a tiny hidden gem amongst the post industrial heartland of Digbeth.

It dates back to the mid 1800s and inside is a quaint and well used bolt hole.

A traditional public house located on Barford Street in Highgate, off MacDonald Street.

The licensee is Edward Finton Fitzpatrick, who has run the pub for over 25 years.

The pub sells real traditional ales.

It is the only watering hole in Birmingham to supply Stanway Stanney Bitter.

The pub doesn't sell food, other than snacks, and sometimes cobs and pork pies on occasions.

The Lamp Tavern won the award for best pub in Birmingham according to CAMRA in 1994, 1997 and more recently in 2019.
